Welcome to the English IIA Blog!

Hi English IIA Students,

Welcome to your online discussion forum! Periodically, I will be posting discussion questions on this page as a class assignment. You will have a certain number of days to write a post that responds to the question(s). Instructions will be given in class and posted on this site.

A few decrees:
1. Respect all voices in the community. This is a virtual "safe space" for discussion.
2. There will be no put-downs or offensive comments allowed in this space.
3. Think for yourself. Form your own opinions. Don't steal someone else's ideas although you may use other people's comments for inspiration.

Inappropriate blogging will result in loss of points, student-teacher conference, or administrative action.

Happy blogging!

Ms. Kung

  1. Journalists should make sure that everything they write is approved by the government before they publish their work.
    Agree/disagree:Disagree
Reason: i disagree because journalist are able to show the goverment in unfalttering lights. If the goverment is able to look at what they post and control it the public would not know what is wrong with the goverment and the government would be feeding people wrong information to make them look better.

  2. Assuring our country’s freedom and safety means that the government should be able to know the thoughts of its citizens.
I agree and disagree with this idea. The reason I agree with this because the government can find out when an attack can occur before it happens. I also disagree because it invades privacy of the people, such as bank accounts and other private accounts.

  3. People who are a serious threat to the government should be able to be held in prison without being charged.
I agree because there is no doubt that they have done it and pay the price of their action. I also disagree to this because what if the person was being force to the things he doesn't want and could be framed for it.
